MINIMISING UNEMPLOYMENT

UNEMPLOYMENT
This is a situation when people that are able and willing to work cannot get job as  supply of labour exceeds the demand for labour.

TYPES OF UNEMPLOYMENT
        i.            Cyclical unemployment: This is caused by downswing of trade or economic activities. It can also be described as unemployment caused by economic depression which affects  all forms of production. For example economic depression of 1930s.
ii.            Frictional unemployment: This is caused by demand or supply, invention or automation.
iii.            Structural unemployment:  This is caused by change in the structure of the economy . For example location manufacture of lace materials has been affected by lace products/ clothes from China.
iv.            Technological unemployment:  This is caused by introduction of new machines.  For example the use of computer has affected the use of typewriters. This also has affected the employment of secretaries.
     v.            Seasonal unemployment:  This is caused by whether. Most agricultural products depend on whether. Adverse effects of weather will throw the producers into unemployment market or joblessness.

HOW TO CURB UNEMPLOYMENT
        i.
Expansion of demand for goods and services
      ii.            Appropriate wage policy
    iii.            Import restriction
   iv.            Export promotion
     v.            Entrepreneurship development/encouragement
   vi.            Population control
vii.            Encouragement of labour-intensive production techniques
viii.            Establishment of more industries.
Discussed so far are what I view as textual or theoretical concepts.

THE PRAGMATIC CONCEPTS

CAUSES OF UNEMPLOYMENT
1.     Societal concept:  The belief of most members of the society is that once you are a graduate, there are jobs waiting for you no matter what you read or your area of specialization.
2.     Attitude:  Some people are naturally lazy. The laziness can cause them their job. They may be sacked.
3.     Societal Impression:  As a graduate you should not do any other job other than while cola job. You will rather choose to be sleeping at home than scouting for any other thing to do.
4.     Religion/Belief:  The belief that your prayer only can give you job. Prayer does the spiritual not the physical.
5.     Pride:  There are little businesses or trade we can learn to help ourselves pending when the job comes. We refuse to do them. It is either the big job or nothing else.
6.     Corruption: Those in authority embezzle public funds. Rather than view public office as public trust, they see it as an avenue to enrich themselves at the detriment of the people they are supposed to use the money for.
7.     Missionless Education:  When you go to school without taking into consideration the concrete or tangible thing you can do with the education. The education can be described as missionless as you do not take the economic  reality into consideration.
PRAGMATIC SOLUTIONS TO UNEMPLOYMENT
1.     Societal concept:  It is wrong to  believe that once you are a graduate, there are jobs waiting for you no matter what you read or your area of specialization. You have to look for an alternative.
2.     Attitude:  Hard work and determination are the keys to success. An idle hand is a Devil’s workshop.
3.     Societal Impression:  Some members of the society have the impression that it is a taboo for a graduate to do simple trading or arts in order to succeed. You as a graduate  may be abused. This is wrong.
4.     Religion/Belief:  The belief that your prayer only can give you job. Prayer does the spiritual not the physical.
5.     Pride:  There are little businesses or trade we can learn to help ourselves pending when the job comes but our pride or the feeling that we will be looked down upon.  We refuse to do them. It is either the big job or nothing else. We can not move forward with this. We can learn tailoring, hairdressing etc.
6.     Corruption:  We should advise our brothers, sisters, brothers, neighbours and friends who are in positions of authority to desist from this act.
7.     Mission-less Education:  We should take  into consideration the concrete or tangible thing  we  can do with the education before we go to tertiary institution or university. Our inability to do this, is sheer mission-lessness  as the economic  reality of today  is neglected.
